America's Greatest President

Who is America's greatest president? Typical answers to this question include George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, or John F. Kennedy. But often when people respond to this question the names come easily but the reasons tend to bog down. Washington was the first, but was he the best? What exactly did he accomplish? Lincoln receives credit for preserving the Union and emancipating the slaves, but was this a result of his greatness, or was he just in the right place at the right time? Kennedy handled the Cuban Missile Crisis and was a champion of civil rights, but was assassinated before he completed his vision for America.

There are many presidents who accomplished some great goals and/or helped to manage our country to achieve incredible outcomes, but who is truly the greatest? Here are some links to help you ponder this rather taxing question:

So what do you think? Don't just throw out the name of somebody you think was a patriot, or was popular, but explain why you made the choice you made. I want to know what you think.

I think Thomas Jefferson was the greatest president, because he made the Lousiana purchase which soubled the size of the USA, however without that purchase the usa might have stayed mainly on the east coast and half of America would be French.

I think Abriham Lincon was because he got rid of slavery. It takes a lot of guts to stand against the nation to fight for something you believe in...
